Supreme Court Rules Cities May Seize Homes

"A divided Supreme Court ruled Thursday that local governments may seize people's homes and businesses against their will for private development in a decision anxiously awaited in communities where economic growth often is at war with individual property rights. The 5-4 ruling — assailed by dissenting Justice Sanday Day O'Connor as handing "disproportionate influence and power" to the well-heeled in America — was a defeat for some Connecticut residents whose homes are slated for destruction to make room for an office complex."

two problems:

1) the people of this country LET this happen.

2) when one can no longer trust its government to protect freedom in the most basic and true sense of the word, the government has set itself up for defeat. the ONLY thing that will stop this government from destroying human rights is for the PEOPLE to rise up in peaceful protest; however, the system has little to fear in that area due to the general lack of community of the people of america.

as negative as it looks, one must also note two more things:

1) how do we know this is a bad thing?

2) the people of the earth have been forgiven, "for they know not what they do." our trust is in a source of energy who created all the possibilities that lay before us, seen and unseen; thus, our peace cannot be shattered by earthly matters.

This ruling may end up harming churches:

"Churches, mosques, synagogues and other nonprofit religious entities are considered especially at threat because they generate no tax revenue for cities, while developments like hotels or shopping malls are seen to be economic boons for urban renewal projects."
