So excited...

Call me uncultured or cliche, but out of all the shows that have hit the stage, my favorite musical is still RENT. I love the rawness...the honesty...the messages about community and living for the day ("There's only us/there's only this/forget regret/or life is yours to miss") and love in its many facets.

So of course I got excited when I finally saw the trailer for the RENT Motion Picture that's coming out in November. Check out the RENT movie site here (be sure to click on ENTER THE SITE, and then VIDEOS, then TRAILER).

"No day but today."

I never saw the play, but what a great trailer for the movie! Thanks for the link. Was that "Detective Green" (Jessie L. Martin) belting out that song?

I'm stoked about it. It too is my favorite still. It's still my dream to perform in that as Mark.

Anyway when it comes out we should all go see it so our wives can make fun of us.

I haven't seen Rent- but the trailer for the movie looks great.

A popular Broadway musical is evaluated post-show by theatre critic Christopher Moltisanti: "Rent. Fucking Broadway musicals. I mean we're supposed to get all fuckin' weepy-eyed cause they turned off the heat in some guy's loft” (“A Hit is a Hit,” Sopranos: HBO, Season One).

Ha, well. That's not exactly the point of the movie, but that's a pretty funny quote none-the-less.
