Into the Wild
As I've said before, I've always been a fan of adventure movies. So watching "Into the Wild" - a story about a young man rebelling against the status quo by giving his life savings to charity and trekking to Alaska to live in the wilderness alone - was quite a pleasure. Stunning cinematography, a touching story, great acting and commentary on themes such as freedom, forgiveness and materialism made this one of my top films of the year.

Yeah- a very moving epic. Great story and direction by Sean Penn.
Hal Holbrook really did a touching job with his role.
Emile Hirsch is one outstanding actor.
I love the Tolstoy quote in the movie... not sure if Chris actually used it in his writing...
"If we admit that human life can be ruled by reason, the possibility of life is destroyed."
what is this truth which is sought over love, money, faith, fame and fairness? can truth be defined or is truth mysterious, perhaps moldable? is the definition of truth only muddled when those other things get in the way?
I haven't seen this one YET (emphasis on YET). But it's on my list! Thanks.
